The year 2022 is drawing to a close and we are all looking forward to a fresh start to the new year. And what better way to welcome in 2023 than with a New Year’s Eve yoga or meditation class, streamed from the comfort of your own home.
Whether you want to dive right into a sequence at midnight or practice earlier in the day, these classes are the best way to say goodbye to 2022. You can review the past year and formulate your resolutions for the new year. Hey, this might even become your new New Year’s Eve tradition.

Embracing Joy: Restorative Yoga Celebration on New Year’s Eve
This two-hour accessible practice includes gentle movements, restorative postures, and deep breathing exercises. If you need to refocus – and tune into your body – before heading into the new year, this is a great flow to try. This online virtual class begins at 1:00 PM EST and is perfect for yogis of all levels. This class uses a sliding salary scale.
The Yoga Common: New Year’s Savasana with Kristin
The Yoga Common, a studio based in New York City and Austin, is offering a special livestream class this New Year’s Eve to help you start 2023 rested and energized. This 2-hour course begins at 10pm EST and ends at exactly midnight to ensure you can start 2023 Savasana. (We can’t think of a better pose to start the new year, to be honest.) This livestream class costs $25 and has capacity, so be sure to book your spot in advance.
New Year’s Online Sit 2022
This New Year’s Eve, the New York Zen Center is hosting an online zazen meditation session. Zazen, a type of meditation, involves short periods of seated meditation followed by traditional bell ringing. This meditation session will help you refocus your thoughts in time for the new year so you can start fresh in 2023. The meditation takes place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and costs USD 25 per person.
New Year’s Eve Meditation with Sahaja Yoga Meditation
Find your inner peace before the start of 2023. Hosted by Sahaja Yoga Meditation, this New Year’s Eve celebration will guide you through a meditation session for the arrival of the New Year. You can also connect with other meditators from around the world and join together for a unified practice via Zoom. The meditation begins at 9:45 p.m. EST and is free.
